Digital cancer care platform Careology has partnered with Entia to help patients with cancer self-manage more of their treatment from home.
The collaboration, which begins on 17 March 2025, integrates Entia’s at home blood-monitoring solution, Liberty, with Careology’s platform allowing patients to perform their own blood tests so that clinicians can remotely monitor how they are responding to treatment.
Paul Landau, founder and chief executive of Careology, said: “We are excited to work closely with Entia to continue enhancing the cancer care experience in a truly patient-centric manner.
“A cancer diagnosis can be very daunting, with a schedule full of appointments and check-ins which can be both mentally and physically draining.
“By providing patients with self-service tools, they are able to feel less restricted by treatment and enable their cancer teams to monitor their progress remotely, enabling more oversight and early intervention.
“This partnership with Entia allows us to further relieve pressures on health systems, improve patient experience, and optimise health outcomes.”
The at-home tests are intended to alleviate the burden of routine patient assessments and pave the way for personalised, preventative care pathways.
Careology’s digital platform, which was co-developed with oncology teams, enables patients to self-manage and better understand aspects of their treatment including side effects, symptoms and medication schedules, as well as providing access to personalised supportive care.
Combining Entia’s blood monitoring solutions with other indicators such as temperature, heart rate and medication helps clinical teams to understand remotely how their patients are, promoting early intervention.
Entia’s Liberty service, designed for cancer patients, includes an at-home full blood count analyser.
Dr Toby Basey-Fisher, founder and chief executive of Entia, said: “We are thrilled to partner with Careology to increase patients’ and healthcare professionals’ access to ‘Liberty’.
“This collaboration marks a significant step forward in patient empowerment, allowing individuals to manage their health with greater ease and autonomy.
“By integrating our technology with Careology’s platform, we can help to drive efficiencies in the healthcare system by not only enhancing the patient experience but also supporting clinical teams with valuable, holistic data insights.”
The development of Entia’s solution was informed by collaborations with oncology experts at The Christie NHS Foundation Trust and The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust.
Meanwhile, in February 2025, Airedale NHS Foundation Trust rolled out the Careology app to support cancer patients, following a winning bid to the West Yorkshire and Harrogate Cancer Alliance as part of its innovation competition across the region.
In September 2024, Careology and the Ella Dawson foundation partnered to offer tailored support to young people with cancer, launched in partnership with The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust.
