Accurx and Tandem Health roll out AI scribing tool across the NHS
Accurx and Tandem Health have launched a tool across the NHS that transcribes, summarises and codes patient consultations into a trust’s clinical record.
The Accurx Scribe feature is built upon Tandem Health’s AI scribe with the aim of cutting admin time and allowing clinicians to put more of their focus on patients.
From 29 April 2025, the feature will be rolled out to the 98% of GP practices already using Accurx, with the ability to write back to EMIS and SystmOne.
Jacob Haddad, chief executive and cofounder of Accurx, said: “NHS staff are spending nearly a third of their day on admin, and they’re being let down by inefficient ways to communicate.
“This delays patient care and leaves staff frustrated and burnt out. We want to liberate them from that, whilst driving huge productivity gains, at pace.
“We met with a wide range of potential partners but immediately found vast common ground between our two organisations.
“Tandem places a similarly high focus on meeting user needs, clinical safety, and simplicity.”
Over the coming weeks, more than 200,000 existing users in GP practices, hospital, community and mental health settings will be able to use Accurx Scribe through Accurx’s desktop, web, and mobile applications.
As well as transcribing, summarising and coding patient consultations into the clinical record, Accurx Scribe can generate referral letters and advice and guidance requests, saving clinicians hours each week on documentation.
The tool also drafts appointment summaries and follow-up messages that clinicians can send directly to patients or other care providers such as a patient’s GP.

NHS England published new guidance on 27 April 2025, offering high-level information to assist clinicians adopting ambient scribing products that feature generative AI, for use across health and care settings in England.
It follows interim data from an evaluation of ambient voice technologies, led by Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, which found that the technology reduced admin, allowed clinicians to spend more time with patients and enabled more patients to be seen in A&E.
Meanwhile in March 2025, the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust (RWT) launched a pilot of CLEARNotes, an AI tool which listens to doctor-patient conversations during a consultation and automatically generates a structured discussion summary.
