Jessica Morley and Joe Zhang to speak on AI at Summer Schools
Dr Jessica Morley and Dr Joe Zhang are the latest speakers confirmed for Digital Health Summer Schools 2025 to support digital leaders embedding AI ethically in healthcare.
Morley is a former tech advisor for the UK government who has contributed to the development of policies and frameworks for the ethical use of data-driven technologies.
Her profile continues to soar as a leading voice on digital ethics in healthcare and at Summer Schools she will cut through the AI hype in her day one keynote, exploring how AI can be used to support NHS values.
Morley told audience at Rewired 2025 in March that the NHS should identify the reasons why it is failing to meet its constitutional pledge to be for “everyone” and then use AI to address these issues.
She also argued that the NHS is ‘missing the opportunity to leverage AI’ by not focussing on population goals.
Zhang is an NHS doctor, former data scientist and published researcher who is influencing the application of AI into UK healthcare. He currently leads the implementation of data and AI technologies across the OneLondon ecosystem.
The pair will deliver a workshop on making AI work in practice, including the practicalities, pitfalls, and ethical considerations.
Join them to explore the technical, governance, ethical and legal, and social implications and challenges that arise when deploying AI in clinical settings, how to work through these challenges, and some practical solutions.
Attendees will work through case studies, identifying best practices and common pitfalls that should be avoided.
